Space Week

  • AIU Space Week 2025 is a dynamic and inspiring three-day event dedicated to celebrating the wonders of space exploration, the power of innovation, and the future of science and technology. Taking place from April 6 to 8 at the American International University campus in Saad Al Abdullah, Jahra, this immersive experience is designed to spark curiosity, ignite imagination, and bring people together to explore the vast possibilities beyond our planet.

H.E. Dr. Sultan Saif AlNeyadi Minister of Youth H.E. Dr. Sultan AlNeyadi is the UAE Minister of Youth, an astronaut, and the first Arab to complete a six-month mission on the International Space Station (ISS) during Expedition 69. He also became the first Arab to conduct a spacewalk. Appointed in January 2024 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, AlNeyadi was one of the first astronauts selected for the UAE Astronaut Programme in 2017. Over 4,000 hours aboard the ISS, he led research with NASA, ESA, CSA, JAXA, and CNES.

Dr. Abdulkader Zalt is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the American International University (AIU). He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lorraine, France, specializing in Solid Mechanics, structural vibrations and Computer Aided Design CAD. Prior to joining AIU, Dr. Zalt accumulated extensive teaching and research experience in various academic institutions. His research interests include fluid-structure interaction, aerodynamics, and Structural analysis. At AIU, he is committed to fostering student engagement in engineering principles and advancing research in mechanical engineering.
